THE Writer

THE Writer
by David Brenneman

It's an easy thing to stop and look back over a life and either assign blame or take or give credit to people in regards to how a life turned out.

I couldn't do that because...
I didn't go because of...
They shouldn't have...
I can never forgive them for...

We look at life as a sum of pluses and minuses. Events or people added or subtracted. We look for, hopefully, the positive in the negative.

Life is much more than our wandering eyes can see nor our aging ears can hear.

Life was meant to be a very personal relationship with Jesus Christ. From the very beginning, with Adam and Eve, that's how it was.

No pretenses between people or between people and God.

We are often, whether you admit it or not, are on the rebranding hunt. How to better ourselves. How to, more succinctly say it, to find peace within ourselves on our terms. Jesus says that only in a right, real, relationship with Him is this ever going to be possible.

Those who have entered into a life with Christ by asking for salvation in Him, do indeed live a different life than the rest of the world.  Out of gratitude for all He's done, Christians live for Him.  He took up a cross, the cross, for us, taking upon Himself that which we rightly deserve. We deserve to pay for our own sins. We are all born in sin.  We all are in need of what salvation offers. The world has hundreds of religions that try to create a false peace between God and man, only the path that the Bible spells out actually works.

Jesus said that He is the way, singular, the truth, singular, and the life, singular. No one, again singular, comes to the Father, but through Him, singular.

We read in Isaiah 55:8-9 NASB "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts."

In Proverbs 3:5-6 NASB "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight."

We need what the singular path that Jesus is in order to truly live life to the fullest.

Mark 8:36 NASB "For what does it benefit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?"

Contrary to what you might choose to believe, there are billionaires, Nobel Prize laureates, philanthropists, intellectuals, countless other types of "good" and "nobel" by the world's standards in Hell.

Why? They, like you and I, were born in sin, and are in need of a Savior, who is Christ the Lord Jesus.

We cannot fathom what Jesus lived through on the cross.  For the first time, the only ever time, in all of eternity Jesus was separated from His Father.  Why? He chose to because His Father loved ever single human being that much.

We owe Jesus to give Him our all.

We WILL be tempted by every possible scheme of sin and Satan to interject some form of selfishness into that life after coming to Christ to be saved.

We will because we still have a sin nature that's not separated from us yet.

We will run from God's intended path for us or we will unknowingly just start down a path that looks like it's from God but isn't and maybe we will just wake up one day and suddenly realize it. Sometimes it will be the result of us not realizing it and He will intervene on our behalf to show us the hard way.

We need to reconsider our life in that a: we need the salvation that's free in Christ and b: we owe Him oh so much. We need not fear the future when our life is then safely kept in His hands.

When we do indeed seek His kingdom and His righteousness then we see Him working in us and through us.

We can then look back over our lives and THEN see the true Writer's pen on the canvas of our life.
