Do You Not Realize It?

Do You Not Realize It?
by David Brenneman

Do you not realize it? Do you not see it?
There is no place where Jesus isn't patiently waiting on those whom still have the breath of life.

Proverbs 16:9 NASB95 "The mind of man plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps."

No matter what you are going through...He is there with you. The opening lines of "His Name is Jesus" say it all.  It reveals His power, His authority, His divinity, His sincerity, His love, His mercy, His character.  Think deeply about this one line..."the King is in the room".

Take the time to quiet your mind and heart and think on that one concept.  The King of Kings is with those in pain, those just going about their day, those lost in a world they think is their own. No matter who it is or where they are, or what repulsive, disgusting, horrific thing they are experiencing, the King is in the room.

"The plans of the heart belong to man,
But the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight, But the Lord weighs the motives. Commit your works to the Lord
And your plans will be established. The Lord has made everything for its own purpose, Even the wicked for the day of evil." Proverbs 16:1-4 NASB95

It's been Proverbs 3:5-6 NASB95 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight." That's been on my mind for over a month now.  Today, I was reading through a new Bible reading plan and finding other video reminders that took me to chapter 16 in Proverbs.

Reading the verses after verse 6 of chapter 3 "Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body
And refreshment to your bones."

In reality, true reality, no matter where you are, in a crowded place or alone, the King is in the room.

We are not to be part-time Christian people.  We are to realize the truth as God sees it, displays it, reveals it.

Our lives in Christ are not to be focused inwardly but rather our sights should be set on the King who is with us.

I would share my recent thoughts of something that I feel lead to pursue.  Details aren't important but suffice to say Proverbs 16, Proverbs 3, this realization of the King of Kings being right here with me---its profound!!  I am not feeling anxiety, rather a cobble of conflicting emotions.  Fear and excitement. Being scared and happy at the same time.  Certainly mixed with uncertainty.

I do indeed believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is directing my steps.  I do not have to understand the why's of what I am going through.  I am not to put my own self interests first.  Paul wrote of this to the Philippians.  Do not look out for your own interests but the interests of others.

What I am beginning to understand of the path set before me is one that's going to require faith and trust.  It scares me but I am strangely drawn to where it leads.

My solace is that my King is in the room.
His promise of never leaving me or forsaking me has been true every moment of my life.  I still highly recommend reading "90 Minutes in Heaven" by Don Piper, a Pastor.  It chronicles his account of the horrific accident he was in and the deep valley's that Jesus took him through on his path to recovery. A very very powerful reading on the proof of Jesus never leaving someone or forsaking them.

Read the book of Job. We read chapter after Chapter of his friend's supposed wisdom...and they hadn't realized that Jesus was right there waiting to speak up.
The King was in the room.

When we are being obstinate, rebellious, are living for self rather than for Jesus, He is right there beside us.  Patiently waiting on us. When we are insisting on our way and are abandoning the path that He's set before us because of our self interest...He's in the room.

When we think we are only telling others how we will or won't do this or that and that's just how it's going to be...He is in the room.  He knows the follies of our hearts.
He searches your heart and mine.

The King is in the room.

Our pain of body or pain of heart might indeed be great...but He is right there with us...He is in the room.  Darkness flees at His command.

While my emotions are a roller coaster...He's here with me.

While you are where you are...in physical pain and suffering or in perfect peace...the King is in the room with you.

My life is never going to have a moment where I will ever find myself alone...my King is in the room.

Our selfish living isn't going to push Him away...He will stand there waiting on us to return.

When we push our own agenda...He waits for that time when we get to the end of ourselves and return to God.

My Dear Reader...reach out to Jesus. Your pain and suffering is but a moment and He's in the room with you.  If you're considering a life that you are stubbornly holding onto...realize He knows.  Our lives are not our own...we were bought with a price...we are commanded to honor Him in how we live.

The King is in the room...how much of what we do and how we do it would radically change if we but embraced that single thought.

There's never been a love so great
He died so we could live
Then he rose up from that grave
Name another King like this
Now all authority
Forever belongs to him
He reigns in victory
Name another King like this...

...the King is in the room.
