The First step, then God moves...

The First Step...then God moves...
by David Brenneman

Was listening to something that I believe the Spirit was saying to me the other day.  It was an oh wow moment.

In all the 3 and a half years of Jesus's ministry...how often had many who were healed needing to take first a step towards Jesus before Jesus would do whatever they asked Him to?

How often had it been that Jesus had passed through various places n the people in need wouldn't speak up or cry out?  I can see it happening today, so I have little doubt it happened back then.

Our first step TOWARDS Jesus is when things begin to happen.  Moses was out minding his own business and it wasn't until he took a step towards the bush to notice it was burning but not consumed that the Lord Jesus spoke to him. He was told to remove his sandals because where he stood was holy ground.

How often do we neglect to take a leap of faith because we're not willing to take that first step?

Jesus is waiting on our faith to do something.  He may grant us what we're desiring, He might have something better in mind or He may reveal that what we want or where we want to go isn't right.

It's on us to take up our own cross and follow Him.  He said we must make that choice, that decision and then DO IT.

We must not just believe, but believe that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

"And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him." Hebrews 11:6

We will receive something from Him for seeking Jesus out. For coming to find Him.

Do you seek out Jesus? As Dr. Stanley said as well...not just for a few minutes...then run off into your day.  Solid time with Jesus.  Down on your knees time with Jesus.  Listening, not just speaking with Jesus.  This was pretty impactful to me after hearing it.  Jesus wants our undivided attention.

What are you doing to invest in your relationship with Jesus?  Are you afraid to take that step?  Why?  You trusted Him to save you, why would you fear what could happen next?

Life Principle #8 is very powerful.

Jesus took it very seriously in coming to Earth to be horribly beaten, abused, crucified, to save humanity.  Doesn't He deserve a better relationship with Him than we often give Him?

Many won't take a leap of faith because they say they prayed n there was no answer.  What if indeed Jesus is waiting on you to take that first step before He reveals anything to you?

Jonah didn't see what Jesus wanted to do to save the people of Nineveh until he took the steps that Jesus wanted him to take.

What is God wanting you to do but you haven't made the effort to step out in faith?

It's supposed to be His Will being done on Earth as it is in Heaven...not ours.

Consider that step...and remember...wherever you pray is holy ground.
