Before Our Eyes

Before Our Eyes
by David Brenneman

"For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens (He is the God who formed the earth and made it, He established it and did not create it a waste place, but formed it to be inhabited), “I am the Lord, and there is none else. I have not spoken in secret, In some dark land; I did not say to the offspring of Jacob, ‘Seek Me in a waste place’; I, the Lord, speak righteousness, Declaring things that are upright. Gather yourselves and come; Draw near together, you fugitives of the nations; They have no knowledge, Who carry about their wooden idol And pray to a god who cannot save. Declare and set forth your case; Indeed, let them consult together. Who has announced this from of old? Who has long since declared it? Is it not I, the Lord? And there is no other God besides Me, A righteous God and a Savior; There is none except Me. Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other. I have sworn by Myself, The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness And will not turn back, That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance." Isaiah 45:18-23.

"The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat! But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells." 2 Peter 3:9-13.

Before our eyes...ever think about that in your lifetime? Jesus is doing things right now, right before your eyes, that angels have longed to see. Things that the Apostles and Prophets of old prayed for to happen in their lifetime...and it's our generation that's seeing them. We have seen Israel become a nation again. We have seen the rebirth of much within Israel with regards to Temple worship. We have seen God's own hands involved with preparing Israel and the world for the events that John, Ezekiel and others wrote about.

While the world scoffs at this and calls these things a coincidence, the Word of God proves yet again that it does not return void.

My Dear Reader are you really ready for the return of Jesus Christ? Would you hear His shout to call out His Church or would you be left behind?

Jesus is keeping His promised return one day at a time, one fulfillment of the Scriptures at a time.

"Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:3-9.

Did you catch that? Do those words sound familiar? I see them in our media outlets, social media and the like. A world that mocks God.

"Now as to the times and the epochs, brethren, you have no need of anything to be written to you. For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober. For those who sleep do their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk get drunk at night. But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing." 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11.

Time is short. Much much shorter than it was a week ago. Jesus said that no man knows the day nor the hour of His promised return. But indeed a day was set by His Father and our Father if we are indeed saved. A day when Christ's Church is complete. On that day we will hear the call on high to come home.

I don't know who that individual will be whom hasn't yet said yes to Jesus for salvation but I know they are either out there right now or are soon to be born. The Day of Christ's return is that soon. Too much has happened and is happening at an exponential rate to say otherwise.

My prayer for you is that if you're saved that you're living the righteous life that God desires for you. My prayer as well is for whomever reads this who is still looking for to fill that Jesus shaped hole in your heart.

"But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:8-13.
Time is running out. Look up, because there's a trumpet to be heard for those who are saved to hear. A shout to call us home is coming.
