Believe
"Do you believe that I am able to do this?" MATTHEW 9:28.
What you believe about God is central to who you are--it will shape your interactions with others. If you don't trust trust that the Lord is sovereign, that He considers you to be worthy and lovable, and that He knows the best path for your life, then you will never have the faith
to follow where He wants to lead you. You will inherently distrust His will for your life, which means you will never position yourself to receive all the joy and blessings He desires to pour out on you.
This is why it is crucial that you embrace the truth about God and become firmly committed to knowing Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Because when you do, it will birth within you a deeper trust in Him that will enable Him to lead you to His blessings.
So consider: Do you truly believe in your loving, wise, sovereign Father? Are you in His Word and in prayer daily to deepen and strengthen your beliefs? Are you obeying everything God has instructed you to do? Don't miss a moment that could be spent
enjoying the blessings He has promised you.
Jesus, teach me to trust You more and obey You. Amen.
-Trusting God with Today, Dr. Charles Stanley
His first statement is pretty much covering everything: What you believe about God is central to who you are--it will shape your interactions with others. If you don't trust trust that the Lord is sovereign, that He considers you to be worthy and lovable, and that He
knows the best path for your life, then you will never have the faith
to follow where He wants to lead you.
There's two of his entries from this book "Trusting God with Today" that I was so taken with that I scanned and printed them to stay out in front of me each day I come to my room to study.
The first is a reminder of God's love for me. First being its GOD who loves me. Second is that God LOVES me. Third is that God loves ME. Each part of that 3 word sentence has its own lesson to learn and remember.
The second begins with the sentence "Consider the profound, personal nature of how the Lord cares for you. God loves you. The most magnificent person in the universe delights in you. The Godhead-Father, Son and the Holy Spirit cherishes you.".
Make sure my Dear Reader that you include BELIEVING those things as well as that He WILL do as He says concerning you.
He said to not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow has enough trouble of its own. That we are to look at the birds and remind ourselves of how not one of these escapes the Father’s notice.
He says in His own words to the Disciples and by extension to each who believe that we are held in His hands and nothing apart from His will will ever touch us.
He says to be of good cheer for He has overcome the world.
He made many more truthful statements about our lives and what an obedient servant of God ought to have in their lives and what they ought to cast out of their lives in order to please the one who saved such a wretch as us.
Believer, should you indeed lay claim to that title because of trusting only in the finished work of Jesus on the cross for the forgiveness of your sins, then live up to that and BELIEVE.
Don't trust your eyes. Your physical eyes are attached to yet a still sinful body.
Look with your spiritual eyes at what the Spirit wants to teach you about how to live the righteous life that God desires for you.
Make pleasing Him your only priority. Make talking with Jesus a priority. Let go of whatever you must to achieve these in your life.
The world will mock you, ridicule you, harass you, berate you, for your choice to so fully follow Jesus.
I firmly believe in what someone once said to the point that I bought the shirt. "I would rather stand with God and be judged by the world than to stand with the world and be judged by God".
You who claim to be a child of God...are you living it? Are you eager to spend time with Jesus each day or is He become just another person in your life?
Are you committed to what He says should be true of you? Loving God with your everything and loving others as He's loved you? Setting your mind on the things that are above and not on the things that are of this world?
"speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;" Ephesians 5:19-20.
Believe. You must not let doubt enter the equation when you didn't doubt that He could or would save you from the penalty of sin.
Take time right now to go back over this post and all that it's reminding you of that's true in Christ Jesus.
GOD loves you.
God LOVES you.
God loves YOU.
