More...With God There's Always More

If you have not received a fresh word from God, return to the last thing God told you and examine your obedience. Is the Lord still waiting for your obedience? Seek to be like Jeremiah, and properly respond to your Lord's instructions the first time. - Blackaby Experiencing God Day by Day

Grace Got You - MercyMe

Have you ever met those who
Keep humming when the song's through?
It's like they're living life to a whole different tune
And have you ever met those that
Keep hoping when it's hopeless
It's like they figured out what the rest haven't yet

The second when you realize
When you have inside
It's only just a matter of time 'til you

Sing, so the back row hears you
Glide, 'cause walking just won't do
Dance, you don't have to know how to
Ever since, ever since grace got you
Laugh, 'til your whole side's hurting
Smile like you just got away with something
Why? 'Cause you just got away with something
Ever since, ever since grace got you

So when you're standing in the rain again
You might as well be dancing
Why? 'Cause there ain't no storm that can change how this ends
So next time when you feel blue
Don't let that smile leave you
Why? 'Cause you have every reason just to

Sing, so the back row hears you...

Dear Younger Me - MercyMe
Dear younger me
Where do I start
If I could tell you everything that I have learned so far
Then you could be
One step ahead
Of all the painful memories still running thru my head
I wonder how much different things would be
Dear younger me,

Dear younger me
I cannot decide
Do I give some speech about how to get the most out of your life
Or do I go deep
And try to change
The choices that you'll make cuz they're choices that made me
Even though I love this crazy life
Sometimes I wish it was a smoother ride
Dear younger me, dear younger me

If I knew then what I know now
Condemnation would've had no power
My joy my pain would've never been my worth
If I knew then what I know now
Would've not been hard to figure out
What I would've changed if I had heard

Dear younger me
It's not your fault
You were never meant to carry this beyond the cross
Dear younger me

You are holy
You are righteous
You are one of the redeemed
Set apart a brand new heart
You are free indeed

Every mountain every valley
Thru each heartache you will see
Every moment brings you closer
To who you were meant to be
Dear younger me, dear younger me

You are holy
You are righteous
You are one of the redeemed
Set apart a brand new heart
You are free indeed

This morning quite a bit seems to be on the plate.  Blackaby makes a good point about God's direction in your life.  The songs by MercyMe seem to fit well with it.

Obedience and Grace work together.  If you've ever done any baking, a bowl to mix in is as much a requirement as a spoon to mix with.  Can't very well have one without the other.

I have had many times in my life where what Blackaby says has been me.  Jesus isn't standing at the front of the classroom with a ruler in His hands waiting to smack us on the head or hands until we obey.  Remember He created patience.  He has all the time because He invented it.  Moving further in our walk is dependent largely upon us.  It's not to say that He won't give you a swift kick in the pants to help you along, because if you look at Jonah, that's what happened there.

We have obstacles in our way that are usually there because we put them there. Then there are those that we run into that Satan tries to use to control or contain us.

How does that fit in with Grace Got You?

How does that fit in with Dear Younger Me?

The end result of obedience is sometimes indescribable.  The level of peace and joy is off the charts.  We can't explain it we can't even come close to being able to.

When grace is realized it's a kind of peace and rest that makes no sense outside of Jesus.

The Dear Younger Me...grace overshadows that scenario.  Look at what pondering the past did.  We all would love to have a talk with ourselves in the past.  To warn ourselves of the good and the bad heading our way.  But look at what was settled on. Just reminding ourselves of who we are in Christ.

You don't need to go talk to your younger self to learn that lesson.  It's a lesson for right now.

Many readers out there have misery and are worn down only because they have been at Spiritual war so long or have not been obeying enough to remember who they are in Christ.

Shepherd David showed up at a battle between Israel and the Philistines. Sees an hears what's been going on.  Soon King David emerges.  Why? What changed? Obedience.  Putting what God wants before what we do.  David had no idea that by the end of that day that he of all people would save his nation.

What could you be accomplishing if you were to obey? If God's Grace were evident in your life, would it attract the curiosity of others?  God's Grace makes us different from the rest of the world.  We are no longer citizens of this world, those who are in Christ are of God's Kingdom.

I was reading the first chapter of Jeremiah.  He was echoing Moses in how he was trying to explain how unqualified he was to speak for God.  The Lord Jesus's response was the same.  What we can do through Christ isn't dependent upon our strength and abilities.  It's dependent upon His Grace and our obedience.

Floating along not seeing a direction in life?  As Blackaby was saying, go back to the last thing that God was waiting on you to obey in.

When we learn to obey...we can see God do things we never imagined possible.  In 10 months I have seen no trace of the mountains that I faced 5 years ago.  God left no trace of them.  He is faithful even when we are not.  He us patient when we need it.  But remember His Kingdom come His will be done.  Remember His own words to His Father.  Thy Will Be Done.

Are you filled with frustration? Ask God if YOU missed something He was telling you.  Was He telling you to let go of something and you aren't?  Remember what was said about patience?

He created it...and also has a time when that patience is set aside.  Jonah can testify to that. The first few attempts to garner obedience didn't work, 3 days and nights in a whale changed his mind.

This world is being prepared for the end of God's patience.  Living in obedience is sometimes difficult now but not impossible.  Live in Grace and Obedience and see what God will enable you to do.

You are holy
You are righteous
You are one of the redeemed
Set apart a brand new heart
You are free indeed
