Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
by David Brenneman

"The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands;  nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things; and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’ Being then the children of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and thought of man. Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent,  because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭17:24‭-‬31

Indeed that is the real eye grabbing headline for this world.   My Dear Reader, there IS a day fixed by the Father’s own authority, whereby the world will be judged.  Denial of this fact will change nothing.  Refusing to acknowledge the power and authority of Jesus Christ changes nothing. Closing your eyes and covering your ears to all the abundant evidence changes...absolutely nothing.

There are only appointed times in human history as far as the Word of God is concerned.  Jesus has no "maybe" days in that time-line.  There are no dates with nothing to do.  Even after the 7 year Great Tribulation, for a thousand years, Jesus will rule here on Earth.  Every single day with purpose.

My Friend, in this here this now you -yes you- have a purpose in Christ Jesus.  If you haven't come to the point of salvation, then right now is the time.  That's your only thing set before you.  If you have come to Christ, then it's on you to grow in Christ. To be useful to God in your daily life.  To go therefore and make disciples.  To share this good news of the Gospel.  It's not to "arrive" in life and live for yourself until you die.   It's not living for the success of the company you work for or may own.  It's not to seek out ways to make your own paradise here on Earth.  We who come to Christ are to submit to the teaching of the Spirit of God and grow with respect to salvation.

Our world in which we live in is replete with billions of ways to occupy your life.

Satan's plan is to keep you from growing in Christ.  In any way possible.  Even if it's a small way that's almost imperceptible.  As a saying goes the course of a river can be changed by a single stone.

The course of your life is going to be altered in small ways that add up.

It's only going to be when the Spirit stops you and grants you hindsight will you see where either you grew in Christ Jesus or where you still have work to be done.

There's no retirement in growing in respect to salvation.  There's no days off in the life of a Believer with regards to obedience to the Word of God.  There's no down time.  In Christ you are given gifts from God through the Spirit to be used in service to God.  It's the use of those gifts, whether good or bad, that we give an account of.

Are you at all considering God's truth for how to live life or are you still trying to press on in living it your way?  Do you not see that in pressing on for your own way that you're fighting God?

Everything you see in your life is destined for destruction.  The endgame of human history is bound up in what happens to the souls of humanity...not in cars, trucks, successes, failures, possessions of any kind.

Are you investing in growing in Christ or are you hiding from doing that?

Do you actually see idolatry yet have convinced yourself that isn't the case in your life?  Another news headline: read the Old Testament...the Lord Jesus confronted His chosen people constantly about doing that.  It still happens today.

How much are you pursuing a right relationship with Jesus?  How high do you value that relationship above everything you own or pursue?

Hear Ye this:  what or who you really value is what or who you are really worshipping.  Yes Jesus summarized the 10 Commandments into two, but they still remain.

What you value says what's really going on in your heart.
