"Hear a just cause, O Lord, give heed to my cry; Give ear to my prayer, which is not from deceitful lips. Let my judgment come forth from Your presence; Let Your eyes look with equity. You have tried my heart; You have visited me by night; You have tested me and You find nothing; I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress. As for the deeds of men, by the word of Your lips I have kept from the paths of the violent. My steps have held fast to Your paths. My feet have not slipped. I have called upon You, for You will answer me, O God; Incline Your ear to me, hear my speech. Wondrously show Your lovingkindness, O Savior of those who take refuge at Your right hand From those who rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of the eye; Hide me in the shadow of Your wings." It's amazing to think, but how true it is in fact, that there are Believers who aren't praying what's on their minds and hearts because they think that God is busy with everything else going on in the world and with other Believers.
My Dear Reader are you one of these? Are you at such a level of feeling inadequate that you're withholding coming into the presence of God in prayer? Are you maybe even so comfortable in your life's situations that you think that your requests would be too much?
Such thoughts of our Savior Jesus Christ cannot be farther from the truth.
Jesus Himself said to come to Him. Said to ask in His Name. To bring whatever is on our hearts and minds to Him to take care of.
We do not yet realize just how much we are the ones who are restricting or restraining the power of God in Christ Jesus for us by entertaining such thoughts!
How can the One who endured the cross for our sakes and who proved that He overwhelmingly conquered sin, death and the grave, ever be out of touch with any who called upon His Name to be saved?
Our sin nature as well as the schemes of the devil are what introduce such fallacies to our thinking and way of life.
Our life is hidden with Christ in God. Our rags were exchanged for His holy garments. Our unrighteousness was exchanged for His righteousness.
We have all the rights of adopted children to the riches of God in Christ Jesus. It matters not how big or how small those requests are that are on our hearts!
I even pray "bullet prayers" when I lose something that I need to find. I pray for things that way when others whom God has caused to cross paths with me utter.
I pray over things that we need done here at home.
I am glad that my Savior and Lord Jesus Christ has all the time in the world, so to speak, for whatever is on my mind. From the beyond joyful thoughts to those that grip my heart and I can't find the words for.
The lies of Satan and his minions as well as the lies of our sin nature should be put in perspective: they are lies, they are deception, they should be dealt with accordingly.
As the song goes "Take it to the Lord in prayer...".
