How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
And make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory
Behold the man upon the cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished
I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
Why should I gain from His reward
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom.
-How Deep the Father’s Love for Us

So much has happened in 2023, should the Lord not yet come...much more is likely in 2024. What are you doing to get to know Jesus better? There's no point in investing in worldly titles and other things that are not going to help you in your relationship with Jesus. Escaping into fantasy worlds won't help you at all. Embracing anything of the world that's consuming your limited time on this Earth that isn't helping you to know your Savior more...is a waste, a colossal waste.
That song is extremely powerful. Jesus took on the full brunt of the wrath of God on your sin which He bore in your place. The pain, the agony, of His physical torment was nothing compared to the full separation from His Father.
He died for you...are you living for Him?
You have no idea the impact and the importance of your life in human history. It is NOT insignificant. It is NOT a happenstance. It's not something inconsequential. Read what this says:
Ecclesiastes 3:11 "He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end."
The work of God is you.
"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." Ephesians 2:10.
The work of God is you.
Look back over 2023. Review yourself. How thankful are you for everything you went through? The Bible says that in everything give thanks. Including everything you don't understand why you went through. Everything you did that you only thought you understood as well.
The love of God was and is in all of your 2023. Grace and mercy daily. Not getting what you do deserve. Getting what you don't deserve and never earned.
Vast and beyond all measure. Beyond your ability to understand. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6.
Praying now for 2024 is what you ought to do today. For me, I know from what the Spirit is telling me, there's exciting things coming for me. I will still pray. Pray that I don't miss what He's doing in, around and through me.
Jesus died for you. "Commit your works to the Lord and your plans will be established." Proverbs 16:3. That's where it matters most. It's those things that will survive being tested by fire on the day we give an account of our lives before Him.
So spend quality time with Jesus in prayer. Make that your habit for 2024.
How deep the Father's love for us How vast beyond all measure That He should give His only Son And make a wretch His treasure...
