When Christ Returns...

When Christ Returns

Now having been questioned by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom of God was coming, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ For behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst.”
And He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. They will say to you, ‘Look there! Look here!’ Do not go away, and do not run after them. For just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part of the sky, shines to the other part of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day. But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be just the same on the day that the Son of Man is revealed. On that day, the one who is on the housetop and whose goods are in the house must not go down to take them out; and likewise the one who is in the field must not turn back. Remember Lot’s wife. Whoever seeks to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. I tell you, on that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left. There will be two women grinding at the same place; one will be taken and the other will be left.  [Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left.”] And answering they *said to Him, “Where, Lord?” And He said to them, “Where the body is, there also the vultures will be gathered.” Luke 17:20-37 NASB

You know, there are those who believe the Scriptures and those who don't.  Those who take most of it seriously and those who think most of it is ok.
Scripture itself says it is ALL God breathed. Useful.
What we read in this today is our generation.  People thinking IF Christ is coming they can live how they want up til then and get a last minute reprieve. Slide in under the wire.  Get saved at the last minute.
Read for yourself what Jesus said.
People are going to be working, laughing, living and dying when Christ returns.
The moment will come with such suddenness that it will be like lightning. Scripture also says it will be in the twinkling of an eye. Seems to me a lightning flash and an eye twinkle are probably equally as fast.
People are bemoaning their moments in time right now.  Don't like the threat of the coronavirus. Don't like the plans of government to deal with it. Don't like no sports, don't like this or that.
The world is getting ready people.  Scripture is not going to be put off forever from coming true.  A birth pang in a woman's body is preparing it for something yet to come.  Making adjustments and changes to her body so that the next one that comes can happen.
We have had global birth pangs for centuries. They are increasing in frequency.  In this example of childbirth. Notice the similarities. The frequency increases for a reason.
Are you ready? My dear reader, read again the words of Jesus.  People were going around in their daily lives like normal when God sent the flood before Noah. People were going around in their daily lives like normal when fire and brimstone rained on Sodom and Gehmorrah. People were just going through life when all the sudden it happened.
Consider this truth.  The flood of Genesis, the judgment on Sodom and Gehmorrah...were births. There were birth pangs that lead up to those events happening. God sent warnings before they happened. Noah preached for a hundred years. Sodom and Gehmorrah were not taken without warning.
We have been warned.
Christ said so.  He is returning at a time when people least expect.  Jesus said people will be going about life like normal when He returns.  But will you be ready?
Will you be covered by the blood of Jesus Christ? Is your name written down in the book of Life?
Are you doing what God has for you to be doing, if you are a believer in Jesus Christ?
These are far more important questions than when is the supply of toilet paper going to catch up with demand.
Even more important than a cure for the coronavirus.
This world is perishing.  God is returning.
Know for sure today that when that moment comes that you are ready for it!
If Jesus said it, THAT is how it WILL be!
