Compromise Isn't a Part of Salvation

Compromise Isn't a Part of Salvation

Remember me, my God, for good.

Lord, You remember me, the kindness of my youth, the love of my betrothal, when I went after You in the wilderness. You will remember Your covenant with me in the days of my youth, and You will establish an everlasting covenant with me. You will visit me and perform Your good work toward me. For You know the thoughts that You think toward me, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give me a future and a hope. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are Your ways higher than my ways, and Your thoughts than my thoughts. I would seek You, God, and to You I would commit my cause— who does great things, and unsearchable, marvelous things without number. Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done; and Your thoughts toward me cannot be recounted to You in order; if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

You see my sin more clearly than I do, yet You choose to remember me “for good.” I praise You for this mercy, this grace. NEHEMIAH 5:19; JEREMIAH 2:2; EZEKIEL 16:60; JEREMIAH 29:10–11; ISAIAH 55:9; JOB 5:8–9; PSALM 40:5 - Dr. David Jeremiah Life-Changing Moments with God

People often try to bargain with God.
People often try to finagle life to get what they desire rather than what God's wanting to do.
People in their deepest despair and discomfort are wanting to give the impression that they are finally putting everything on the table if only God would do this or that.

People also simply attempt to compromise with the Word of God in order to keep on with the sins that the Bible says are sins.  They try to salve their conscience by putting their sins on a scale. Using words like "It's not as bad as..."

Realize that it takes a single, solitary, sin to be guilty enough to spend eternity in torment in Hell.  One. One thought. One action. That's it!

We aren't to live a life of compromise with Jesus.  We read in this prayer the truths about God's thoughts and intentions. We know the truth yet still try.

We can often forget that the Word of God is SUPPOSED to change us.
We can often forget that even believers can try to manipulate forgiveness.
We can often forget that we are to be in the world but not of the world.
We can often forget much when the enticement of this world looks so appealing.

Realize it well that everything Jesus said in what's known as the Lord’s Prayer is to be true?

Matthew 6:9-15 NASB "Our Father, who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come.  Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For if you forgive other people for their [j]offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive other people, then your Father will not forgive your offenses."

We often forget that God doesn't compromise.

There are no "ifs" in regards to fulfilling what you just read.  Nowhere do we read of obedience being an option we can do or not do without consequences.

Are you living a life where you keep trying to sway God to your way of thinking?

Are you trying to offer God something if only He would do this or that?

Are you not realizing that our very life-breath is in His hand?

Our position is the same as the called Disciples were living.  They were commissioned to make more Disciples. Throughout the generations since that's what's to be happening.  It means our lives should in most respects mirror theirs.

So many people have unknowingly fallen into the mindset of compromise.  Really read it for what it's worth. It's the same as our ancestors hearing "did God really say...".

We have a sin nature that is in direct opposition to the Spirit in us.
We have a sin nature that will find ways to trick and trap us in continuing to sin.
We have a sin nature that is both seductive and relentless.

Prayer is necessary and required to clear our hearts and minds.
Prayer is necessary to put on the whole armor of God.
Prayer, Praise, Thanksgiving, Forgiveness, Grace and Mercy.

Stop trying to bargain with God.  We only prolong the inevitable change that God wants to do in and through us. We delay the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ by our lives of compromise!

Obedience hastens the coming of Christ Jesus.

What areas of your life are honestly a waste in light of the cross of Jesus?
What are you holding onto that in no way is ever going to show a lost world that Jesus loved them enough to die for them?
What are you refusing to change that is preventing you from growing in Christ?

Be honest with you.  If we really do want His kingdom to come, what are we doing to prepare the way? If we want the same here on Earth as it is in Heaven what are we willing to let go of to make it happen?  Your collections of stuff, your possessions.  Where you spend your time, your money.  Where your thoughts dwell.  Are these at all pointing people to a Savior?

What are you doing to have His Will be done?

Are you trying to get out of obedience or are you embracing obedience?
Are you living the life of a Believer or are you blending in so well with the world that people see no difference?

It's time to stop trying to keep what you cannot. It's time to put your all on the altar.
