You Will Never Know Until You Come to Jesus for Salvation

You Will Never Know Until You Come to Jesus for Salvation

This is the day after His being crucified.
His body grows cold in the tomb, most of the fluids in it are gone. His blood spilled out on the ground at calvary.

We look at Him in the distance of years, seeing but not seeing what the Disciples saw, what the women followers saw, what Mary saw that day.

We only know what the Scriptures say. Day 2 He was in the heart of the Earth. A different version of "I Can Only Imagine" taking place. Saints of old rejoicing, some just recently arriving themselves. The thief from the cross probably on his knees in unashamed gratitude. The other, across that chasm that separated Sheol from Hafes, crying out to Jesus from his torment, along with millions and millions of other people. Doubts are fully erased in the hearts of all who see Him. All know who Jesus is. All know why He’s there. All with Him celebrate what it all means. They are told that He’s conquered sin, that death no longer has a hold on those who believed and looked forward to His coming.  Tears of joy undoubtedly are flowing.

This is but Day 2. Jesus spends the day with those there from Adam to the Thief from the cross. In all likelihood songs ring out, joy in its fullest form.

Day 2. We know what's coming next, Day 3 He leads captive a host of captives. Those who had been in what's called Abraham's bosom, are leaving there to forever be with Jesus. That chasm will likely be done away with. All that remains down there is a place of torment where people pay for their own sins. Those who rejected salvation in Christ Jesus.

Those in this world today who have put their faith and trust in Christ Jesus alone for salvation, who indeed have come await their turn.  They await either their call to come home to Heaven or they await His return to be gathered with all who are alive and remain who are saved.

We can't fathom what Heaven will really be like. We can't see it nor understand it in physical terms because it's a Holy, Spiritual place.  Sin has never tainted it. Sin has never tarnished it.

Many have yet to be either thief.  Huh?
Both thieves were unworthy, both were paying for what they had done.
Both. Yet one placed His faith in Christ Jesus and had his sins pardoned and forgiven.  Washed away.

Scripture says in Romans 3:23 that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  Everyone.

Seems hopeless doesn't it?

Read on in Romans 10:8-16 NASB "But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

How then are they to call on Him in whom they have not believed? How are they to believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher? But how are they to preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!”

However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ."

Hope is only lost if you die without Christ Jesus.

Day 2 Jesus arrived and hope swelled in that place where He was because all the saints before Him looked forward to that day.

We who are alive and remain in today's world look forward to our own joy in being in the presence of Jesus Christ our Redeemer.

Is there really anything more important in life?  No there isn't. God, the creator of all things can remove or replace anything we can possibly imagine in this world in the physical sense.  It's our soul that matters most to Him. It's receiving the free gift of salvation that matters most to Him. So many live in denial at the truth that they are drowning in life and need rescued.

We cannot begin to understand what God had prepared for those who do love Him.

We who are in Christ have work to be done in His fields. We have a light that needs to be shining. We have a message to proclaim of the good news of the Gospel.

We need to be ready to give a reason for the hope that's within us through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Pray concerning your life, that your light isn't hidden.  Pray that the light of Christ in you will indeed shine.  It's why you are here.  We aren't here for health, wealth or prosperity. We aren't here for our desires. To take up our own cross is to put those things aside because of Christ.

Lastly...Sunday's Coming.
