I'm So Glad I Met Jesus

I'm So Glad I Met Jesus

What a joy I've found in Jesus
What a gift it is to know
The one who holds the heavens
The Savior of my soul
What a miracle it is to
Hear you speak to me
What a treasure to behold you
Simply to believe
I'm so glad I met Jesus
Didn't know what I needed
Oh, but now that I've seen Him
I have nothing left to hide
I'm so glad I met Jesus
Now I'm caught in this freedom
I can't run from your goodness
Bringing everything to life
I'm so glad I met Jesus
I'm so glad I met Jesus
What a friend I've found in Jesus
What a life He's given me
All my darkest days are over
He's redeeming everything
I'm alive with eyes wide open
I've tasted and I've seen
In too deep to turn back now
How could I not believe?
I'm so glad I met Jesus
Didn't know what I needed
Oh, but now that I've seen Him
I have nothing left to hide
I'm so glad I met Jesus
Now I'm caught in this freedom
I can't run from your goodness
Bringing everything to life
I'm so glad I met Jesus
I'm so glad I met Jesus
Oh my Jesus
There's power in Your name
There's freedom in Your name
I remember the moment
He told me
I'm free from my past
Now all that
I know is
I'm never turning back
Come on if your with me tonight, would you sing it again?
I remember...
I remember the moment
He told me
I'm free from my past
Now all that
I know is
I'm never turning back
I'm never turning back
Don't you know that
He loves you
He wants you
He's knocking at your door
He's calling you over
What are you waiting for?
What are you waiting for?
What are you waiting for?
What are you waiting for?
I'm so glad I met Jesus
Didn't know what I needed
Oh, but now that I've seen Him
I have nothing left to hide
I'm so glad I met Jesus
Now I'm caught in this freedom
I can't run from your goodness
Bringing everything to life
I'm so glad I met Jesus
Yeah
I'm so glad I met Jesus
Met Jesus
I'm so glad I met Jesus
Didn't know what I needed
Oh, but now that I've seen Him
I have nothing left to hide
I'm so glad I met Jesus
Now I'm caught in this freedom
I can't run from your goodness
Bringing everything to life
I'm so glad I met Jesus
I'm so glad I...

Thrive Worship - Pour Out Your Spirit - "I'm So Glad I Met Jesus"

I met Jesus actually a few years after I was born.  Many seem to find that impossible to believe, but, it's true.

I was having eye surgery to correct my being born cross-eyed.  Most really don't know that I am half blind in one eye as well.  I can remember the intense fear of going into the surgery. My next thoughts are of peace as I was with Jesus in what I can only describe now as Heaven.  For me the book "Heaven is for Real" came several decades earlier.  The portrait of Jesus that you can Google from that book is who I believe that I met.

Fast forward a decade or so. Fall of 1974. I met Jesus again and this time it was to receive His free gift of salvation.

It's taken several more decades to get to where I am now in my relationship with my Savior.  Long long ago He began a work in me and said in His Word that He would continue it until either I am called home to Heaven or He returns.

As an adult I have learned many truths about my Jesus, things that really point to believing as a child would.  That's what I easily understand of Jesus telling His Disciples that that's the right way to come to Him.

We really mess up life trying to fit our relationship with Jesus in an adult mindset.

I was overjoyed in 1974 to want to tell others.  I just never understood the things that I see today that make for Spiritual attacks.  I came under many as a child trying to live out my faith.

Many decades later Jesus told me He indeed has a plan for me in this world.  I got so excited that I got ahead of Him and really, from a worldly standpoint, messed up my life.  But...even in all that, Jesus never left me. He patiently waited for me to return to Him.  Most everyone goes through a Prodigal Son time in their lives. After I get to Heaven, at the end of my time here, I am certain that Jesus will show me many times it happened.

But in no way do I ever regret meeting Jesus.  In no way have I ever "lost out" on living life.

In no way have I missed "living".

If anything that I am beginning to understand as I get older is the uselessness of aspects of life that the world says are important.

I love praying.  I love talking with Jesus.
I love being able to be totally, 100 percent, honest with Him.  I love finding myself in moments of worship in the various places that I am.  Sometimes in the truck, sometimes on the riding mower, sometimes in my recliner.  Can really be anywhere.

I love My Savior.  He gave up Heaven for the likes of me over 2,000 years ago to take my place and save me from my sins.  You read in the Old Testament and you would see that someone born like me wouldn't be allowed in the Temple. Born witb the defects that I have that is.  Jesus made a way where there was no way for me to be with Him.

In this world we are always going to have problems, the old English word 'tribulations' comes to mind.  Several translations of the Bible use it.  Many confuse it with the Great Tribulation of the book of Revelation. They aren't the same. The second being a 7 year period of time of distress on this Earth that's never been seen before in its intensity.  It is a period of problems but the god of this world, Satan, will convince people that it's something else going on.

We who are in Christ Jesus won't be here.  Jesus will have returned and taken home to Heaven those who have died in Christ first, then those who are alive at that point who have placed their faith and trust in Christ Jesus alone for salvation.  That return marks the end of what Paul said was the fullness of the Gentiles. Then Daniel's 70th week begins. People indeed will come to Christ during that time but at great peril. People who come to Christ during that 7 year time period will be considered enemies of the state. Being killed for not worshiping the god of this world.

You, my Dear Reader, don't need to miss out on a wonderful life with Jesus yourself.  You can know what this song talks about for yourself.

I pray for all who read this and hope they find the friend in Jesus that I have found.
You are chasing after the wind at trying to figure out how to live a full life outside of a life with Jesus.  As He said: "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it." Matthew 16:25 NASB.

Seeking joy, peace, security on your terms you're going to find impossible.  You will be like a dog chasing its own tail.  It will always be just out of your reach.

I am so glad that I met Jesus.  My hope and desire is what He wants. That you too would see that you've got nothing to fear by coming to Christ for salvation. That all those things that you think you will be losing don't matter.

The Bible is clear in saying that if you die without salvation in Christ Jesus you will be forever separated from God. You will be the one paying for your own sins. You were born in sin to begin with. So it's not even a matter of if you will sin.  In God's eyes everyone has sinned and fall short of the righteous life He desires for us.

You need to receive His free gift of salvation in order for Him to take your sins away.

My hope and prayer is that even one person might come to Christ for salvation through this blog.  Or maybe even come back to Jesus as a Prodigal Son or Daughter.

You don't need to keep running anymore.  You don't need to point to this reason or that reason for why you haven't asked Jesus to save you.  In the book of Romans it says plainly: "But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation." Romans 10:8-10 NASB

We don't need to make it complicated. Jesus did satisfy everything that God the Father required to truly make us able to be saved.  When God the Father looks at a believer He sees the righteousness of Jesus and not their own sins. For they are washed away completely.

Oh that you who read this who have yet to come to Christ for salvation would learn about this joy in a life with Jesus!
