Because He Loves

Because He Loves
by David Brenneman

There's many a time when I am so glad and thankful that songs pop into my head that certainly point my thoughts to a far better place than I am in.

"The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell
It goes beyond the highest star
And reaches to the lowest hell
The guilty pair, bowed down with care
God gave His Son to win
His erring child He reconciled
And pardoned from his sin
Could we with ink the ocean fil
And were the skies of parchment made
Were every stalk on earth a quill
And every man a scribe by trade
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry
Nor could the scroll contain the whole
Though stretched from sky to sky
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure
The saints' and angels' song"
-MercyMe "Love of God".

"… I love You, Lord
Oh, your mercy never failed me
All my days, I've been held in your hands
From the moment that i wake up
Until i lay my head
Oh, i will sing of the goodness of God
… And all my life you have been faithful
And all my life you have been so, so good
With every breath that i am able
Oh, i will sing of the goodness of God
… I love your voice
You have led me through the fire
And in darkest night you are close like no other
I've known you as a Father
I've known you as a Friend
And i have lived in the goodness of God, yeah
… And all my life you have been faithful, oh-oh-oh
And all my life you have been so, so good
With every breath that i am able
Oh, i will sing of the goodness of God, yeah
… 'Cause your goodness is running after, it's running after me
Your goodness is running after, it's running after me
With my life laid down, i'm surrendered now
I give you everything
'Cause your goodness is running after, it's running after me, oh-oh
'Cause your goodness is running after, it's running after me
Your goodness is running after, it's running after me
With my life laid down, i'm surrendered now
I give you everything
'Cause your goodness is running after, it keeps running after me
… And all my life you have been faithful
And all my life you have been so, so good
With every breath that i am able
Oh, i'm gonna sing of the goodness of God
I'm gonna sing, i'm gonna sing
… 'Cause all my life you have been faithful
And all my life you have been so, so good
With every breath that i am able
Oh, i'm gonna sing of the goodness of God
Oh, i'm gonna sing of the goodness of God" -Bethel Music & Jenn Johnson "Goodness of God".

My Dear Reader...today's reading that I just finished was the post-resurrection story of Jesus.

My mind went to thinking of the grand reunion with His Father. Of His Father's "Well done!" to the Son of God. Further my mind is blown with considering how such a single sin of Adam and Eve...grew...and would cause the Son of God to know the separation of Himself from His Father on that cross.

It comes down to the love of God.
We'll probably never fully wrap our minds around the scope of what all that truly meant between the Son and the Father.

We're not even fully grasping what we really have in Christ Jesus right now.

Was reading in Psalms 94 of the promises of God to deal with those who have dealt harshly with His chosen people.

Those would-be skeptics should realize that the coming the first time was a promise made...promise kept. He made the promise to return again to gather His own to Himself. It's GOING to happen.

The love of God...is both why it's not happened yet and why it will happen soon.

The love of God isn't willing that any should perish but that all would come to Him for salvation.

Just as everyone will be without excuse as to why they rejected His free gift of salvation, they will know what they rejected when they face Him.

We're to be lights in this present darkness to show people a still better way.

The love of God in Christ Jesus covers a multitude of sins. We don't come to Jesus in a ready-to-live for Him state. We come as we are and HE begins His workmanship in each of us. He removes our sinners clothes and gives us new righteousness to wear.

The love of God...the love of God...

Jesus wants the best for us. Is working all things together for our good and His glory.

Stop and take some time to just think about "how He loves you, oh how He loves me, oh how He loves you and me."

He said for all who are weak and heavy laiden to come to Him and He will give you rest...because He loved you.

His ways are not our ways. His thoughts are higher than ours.

We're not going to understand why our paths in life are going where they are going and do go.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.

Because He loves you.
