Where is your heart?

Where IS Your Heart?
by David Brenneman

My Dear Reader...where IS your heart today?  Are you at all concerned about what concerns Jesus?  Do you look at others differently because of the Spirit working within you?

I have heard much concerning personal awareness.  Of knowing myself.   I don't know nearly what I ought to concerning myself.

What matters to Jesus ought to be at the forefront of our minds and hearts.

I know that I know that I know each morning Jesus meets with me to write what He's telling me to write.  I also know that an added benefit has not only been to see what's been written, but to see what has happened to my prayer life.

How much of life that we do today is going to translate to a crown we give back to our Savior?  We have the opportunity each day to come into His presence in prayer.  Do you ever stop to think of the dynamics of this?  You the forgiven sinner, in an instant, step into the holy presence of Jesus Christ the Son of God.  Do you take a nonchalant approach or does that go deep into your heart and mind?

What's the inside of your heart looking like these days?  Are you at all interested in what interests the Spirit at work in you?  He is working out all things for your good if indeed you love Jesus.  Aren't you interested in following along to see what all that means?  Or are you essentially telling Him to reach out to you when He needs you?

Are you more excited about this life in regards to what the world has to offer than you are what God's doing in you as well as the people around you?

Everything, everything, everything in this world is doomed to be burned up.  We cannot take a single item with us to Heaven.  Nothing. The only treasures in Heaven are what is the most valuable to Jesus...people.

We are being taught by the Spirit to be a people after God's own heart.

When you look at yourself do you see evidence that that's happening in you?

"Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?  For you have been bought for a price: therefore glorify God in your body." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.

What comes to mind when you really think about this passage?

Do you honor Jesus with your life or are you only doing the minimum?

Are you really giving Jesus your leftovers?

Does your passion, enthusiasm, energy and efforts go to idols and not to the One who holds you in His hands?  Do you think more highly of anything this world has to offer than you do what is eternally important to Jesus?

I am just asking questions...it's on you to reconcile those questions and their answers between you and Jesus.

There's millions of people claiming to be Christians in this world...and should they all be doing life as the Spirit is wanting of them...honestly this world would be a radically different place.  My heart of hearts tells me that all that's really left to happen before Jesus returns is for whomever it is that's the last person to be saved is saved.  It's the work of Believers to take the gospel message out to the broken. If Believers are silent then it's going to take a lot longer to find that last person.

If Believers aren't trying to live life in Christ the way the Spirit is trying to lead them to, then its going to take a lot longer to find that last person.

Where is your heart and mind?

Is it set on the things above?
Are you interested at all in letting go of your life to truly find it in Christ?

We cannot live life the way we need to in our own righteousness, our own strength.  Jesus said that if we want to find our life we must lose it.

I really don't want to gain the whole world and forfeit my soul.  Do you?

Are you at all trying to take up your own cross each day to follow Jesus?  Are you at all seeking His Kingdom and His righteousness?

Where is your heart this day?
