Much Ado About Everything

Much Ado About Everything
by David Brenneman

‭‭“But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left. “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;  naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’  Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’  The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’ “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’ Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’ Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matthew‬ ‭25:31‭-‬46

"Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought for a price: therefore glorify God in your body." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.

"For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6.

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." Ephesians 2:10.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6.

"So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God." Romans 14:12.

Do you see where it's actually IS much ado about everything you do, say, think?

On the day that all Believer's give an account of their lives before Jesus, the fruits of which become a crown to present back to Jesus, it's important to live life now the way the Spirit teaches us to live.

There's no end to the self-inflicted pain we can cause ourselves.
There's no end to the depths to which you can convince yourself that you're doing nothing wrong.
There's no end to the apparently wonderful distractions this world can provide to keep your eyes from God.

Discipline, training, denying self, if such things are critical to the physical world of fitness...these have their roots in Spiritual well-being.  Jesus said plainly so that nobody would miss it...if anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his own cross and follow Me.

Are you too comfortable in your indulgences to live for Jesus the way that the Spirit is trying to teach you?

Have you concluded that you're retired now so what you do is entirely up to you?

Have you concluded that your career is on track and you can't or won't let anyone or anything keep you from getting to the next level?

My Dear Reader...are you going to be ashamed by what your life revealed of just how much it was lived for Jesus?

If you're still breathing there's still hope to make changes. The Rapture of the Church obviously hasn't happened yet.  You do still have time. Cramming at this last hour of humanity before the Rapture isn't it either.

Be in the Word of God daily. Be in real communion through prayer daily.  As Paul said forget the past, you're in the present and have a future.  Make developing your relationship with Jesus as your Savior your priority.

For those who are indeed saved, for sure they are going to be with Jesus forever.  Only those who are are have their names written in the Lamb's book of Life are going to spend the rest of eternity with Jesus. Those who are not will spend eternity in painful torment in the Lake of Fire...the final judgment.  All the supposed good deeds a person can ever do...without salvation in Christ Jesus...are as filthy rags. Meaningless. Countless trillions of people will see their lives amount to nothing at the Final Judgment all because their names were not in His book of Life.

Among the lies of Satan is the one where only you know what's going to make you happy, wanted, loved, appreciated.

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly." John 10:10.

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3:20‭-‬21‬ ‭says "Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen."

We wait until we think we're going to die to begin to live for Jesus.
We can't wait until we're done getting from life what we want and then live for Jesus.
We cannot know what it is that He's been preparing for us without living for Jesus

but just as it is written,

“Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9.

With all this in mind...how are you doing today?  How's life really going?  How much of the righteous life that God desires for you will be a part of your heart and mind going forward?

How well DO you walk with Jesus?
How much time do you put forth towards building that relationship?

Oh my Dear Reader...the Christian life certainly is much ado about everything.

Every single thought.
Every single intention.
Every single action.
Every single inaction.

The children of Israel were given the instructions of life through Moses to the people.  They were told to write them down and think on them as often as possible.

A life in Christ is not meant to be lived apart from Him.  We're not given a ticket to go live however we want all because we're going to Heaven.

Are you doing life in a way that is in obedience to God's Word?  Are you growing in Christ or growing in self?

Oh it's much ado about everything.
Your thoughts and intentions will be revealed. Jesus already knows them.  Think about that for a moment.

What will you now do going forward?  As the hymn says "Give of your best to the Master..."

Is Jesus getting your best?
