Keeping Watch and Warning

I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected. Habakkuk 2:1

The watchman's job was vital. An approaching army left residents of an ancient city precious little time to flee or to prepare for battle. Everyone's life depended on the alert watchman as he peered into the horizon for the earliest glimpse of an approaching threat. It was critical that the people be alerted as soon as possible to what was coming. As a Christian, God places you as a watchman for yourself your friends, your family, and your church family. It is essential that you be attentive to what God is saying. It may be that a friend is in crisis and needs God's Word. As you study your Bible, God may choose to give you words of encouragement to share with your friend. It may be that as your children face difficult challenges, God will speak to you as you pray and reveal how you can help them. If you are spiritually alert, you may receive a warning from God that addresses specific dangers that those around you are facing. If you are careless, on the other hand, your family may be struggling, but the answers God has for them will go unheard. If you are oblivious to God's message, those around you may miss the encouraging promise from God that He wanted to share through you. God holds His watchmen accountable for their diligence (Ezek. 33:6). Strive to be attentive to every word that comes to you from God. Your diligence will benefit you and those around you as you heed God's warnings and follow His commands. - Blackaby Experiencing God Day by Day

There's been times when something was about to happen when we cry out to others "Watch out!" Or "Be careful!"

My friend look at our world today.

How many times do you need to be told that Christ is returning?  How many times will you ignore the danger that awaits you because you are being stubborn?

There's hundreds and hundreds of prophecies in the Bible that have all come true.  The specific prophecies concerning Jesus alone are beyond astronomical. I think someone once said it was like having the state of Texas covered in dollar coins, several feet thick.  With one being different from the others yet that bullseye was still hit. Or something like that.

My life has not been wasted in my walk with God. God has began a work in me and will continue it until the day of Christ Jesus.  That's what the Bible says.

Selfish people lead selfish lives.  They worry about what they have and how to get more.  One of the greatest lies ever is winning the lottery.  Every single person who has, has had a miserable life afterwards.  Money doesn't solve problems in your heart.  It exposes them.

Howard Hughes was one of the richest men ever.  Yet died alone and miserable. He was almost a modern day Solomon in his riches and ability to have anything.  Wasted.

In our new emerging world, life is going to be different.  We are going through a significant birth pang.  Scripture says there's going to be many.  Of all scenes to watch, watch the ending of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.  Watch Padme and the pained expression on her face as the birth pangs hit her.  That's what this world is going through.  Life afterwards is never the same.

My friend a year ago my life hit a turning point.  Evidently my Spiritual life was to go a new direction.  God told me clearly that He would have things for me to say and it was on me to say them.  The same as our devotional today.  A Scribe on the Wall was born out of that.  Just as it was the Watchman's responsibility to warn people of pending danger.  I was given a responsibility to write whatever I have been told to.

To be equally clear, I have struggled to be a writer all my life, wanted to write a book or two and be published.  God told me a year ago that I was thinking too small.

I am not that eloquent a writer.  I just am not that good at it.  What you read in these blogs is not my ability, it's God speaking.

My dear reader, what more evidence do you need that a line is formed in the sand.  You either believe God or you believe his enemy, Satan.  There's no middle ground. There is no fence to sit on when Satan owns the fence, making people believe that it's a safe place to be.

Where will you spend eternity?  Time isn't going to be forever.  Soon and very soon there will be another great birth pang.  The world will change even more from what we know now.  It is written in the Bible, its going to happen.  It had happened and will happen again.

People are dying, yes.  But people are also being made to change even though they don't want to.  Forced into a new world just as birth pangs change the mother as well as the baby.  It's never gonna be like it was before this.  It's simply going to be different.   It's going to follow a path written long before any of us was born.  It has to follow the Scriptures.

Read Romans Road online.  Find a real Bible preaching, Bible teaching Church.  Ask how you can know you can be saved.

Scripture says that all who call upon the name of Jesus Christ shall be saved.  Not in that moment, but through a transformed life and heart.  To a new relationship with Jesus.

I wouldn't be a very good watchman if I wasn't telling everyone to look up!  Jesus is coming soon!

Soon there's going to be millions of people vanishing.  That is the Rapture of the Church.  That is Jesus Christ coming to take His Church, those who are saved in Christ with Him to be with Him in Heaven.

There's going to be a grand coverup concerning it.  Because Satan doesn't want people to believe that the Bible is true.   You have been told.  You have been warned.

Know today where you will spend eternity.

The question isn't hard.

Your choice may be.  But the question isn't.
