He Sat Down

He Sat Down
by David Brenneman

"And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high," Hebrews 1:3 NASB

We rarely see what this implies.  We don't look for what it means.

Jesus, after ascending back to Heaven, was done with all that His Father said was required to save mankind, to save you and I.

This scene of Him sitting down, back on His Throne, signified that indeed, in Heaven as on Earth, "It is FINISHED!" had been completed.

His Father was very pleased with Jesus. He said so. "Well pleased" in fact.

This also signified the beginning of the end of all things impacted by sin. The clock, as it were, began ticking towards the day He would once again stand up.

I often wonder if the earthquake that accompanies the Rapture of the Church is in fact a blast from Heaven's door towards Earth at the roar of countless millions of people shouting, KNOWING what His standing up means. KNOWING what His going back through Heaven's door means.

The walls of Jericho fell flat at the trumpets and shouts of the children of Israel.  The very foundations of the Earth will shake when Jesus returns.

Last night I was prompted to write about what Creation might have been thinking.

This earthquake also could be the great joy of His Creation, knowing that after thousands of years healing was coming. After the last of 7 years of the final judgment of God, for a thousand years this Earth, His Creation, will enjoy peace unlike any its seen since Adam and Eve sinned and mankind was cursed.

Jesus arose 3 days after His death.  As the Pastor said last night, He is the only One in human history to predict His own death, burial and resurrection and pulled it off.

"He made Him who knew no sin to be sin in our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." - 2 Corinthians 5:21 NASB

Jesus proved over and over again that He was willing to obey His Father, to go through all that He did, to save the likes of you and I.

He came to seek and save the lost, and pulled it off.
He came to bring the truth of God, and pulled it off.
He came to show the truth of God's love in a fallen world, and pulled it off.

Oh the joy that DOES happen in Heaven when someone turns from sin to a new life in Christ Jesus.
Oh that joy multiplied when those there are rejoicing at what comes next.

Jesus sat down where He did, when He did, to become our Mediator, our King, our everything. Satan arrives daily in Heaven to accuse Believers. Jesus daily intercedes on our behalf. He doesn't even need to get up in order to dismiss the accusations of Satan.

In Christ we are a new creation. The old has passed away the new has come.  All because of what Jesus did over 2,000 years ago.

Whether or not you believe, the truth doesn't change.  Whether or not people believe it, what's coming won't be changed or stopped.  It's on everyone individually to either accept or reject a life in Christ.

No man knows the day nor the hour of His return, but what will happen to this world will indeed be the shot heard around the world that will shake up everything.

You might be going to an Easter service today. Be sure before you leave to settle the question of whether or not you are going to Heaven or Hell.  Those are the only two options after death.  You will hear lies about it. You will hear of there being no hurry.  You will hear of anything and everything to get you to not go for it.

Once Jesus does stand and does come again, He won't come again until the judgments of God are completed.  Your cries for Him to come back to get you will be unanswered.

My Dear Reader, be sure today.  I have a friend who's spending this Easter in Heaven, rejoicing in ways unimaginable.

The greatest gift this day was when Jesus sat down and all that we needed to find life in Him was completed.  He's knocking at the door of your heart, won't you bid Him to come in?
