Lessons from Goliath

Was reading and remembering the story of David and Goliath.  A Comedian had pointed out Goliath's last thought "Nothing like this has entered my mind before..."

But consider what happens to many on the verge of death or near to it. The claim their life flashed before their eyes. That much information in a moment.

We consider it a monumental achievement to remember why we walked into a room.

But consider Goliath.  He, like all before and after him who opposed God, had a moment in time to see the truth.  Deception ripped away and the truth remaining.

To see in a split second that his boasting was in vain.  His talk was nothing.  His actions against the God of Israel were in vain. He sees in that split second before death his future.  He sees and can do nothing about it.

He shook his fist at the God of Heaven and was shown who he really was. Nobody is exempt from this.  We all will face a time in this life to truly see the truth.  The question is whether or not you will accept it.  Realizing the truth and accepting it are not the same thing.

I can look at a map on how to get from A to B but unless I truly trust and believe that the path is real, that the map isn't lying.  That the images in front of me are truth when I start driving.  Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.

What part of your life is buried in doubt?  Let go of it.
What part of your life is holding you back from the truth of God in your life?

All deceptions are done away with in a moment.

Just don't let that be when God says you're time is up and you are out of chances.

Goliath is in Hell. Don't let that be your destination.  Have that talk with Jesus that you keep putting off.
