Where is He?

"I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved." Psalm 16:8

What does it mean to set the Lord always before you? It means that you choose to relate everything you encounter to your trust in God. - Blackaby

As he further writes, and you can see it yourself throughout Scripture, the importance of the right hand position.

Jesus is at the right hand of the Father.

So where is Jesus in your life?  Is He at your right hand or in your back pocket?
Is He two steps behind you and to your left?  Or is He with you in everything?

Where we put Christ determines our life.

If sports, celebrities and what these people think color your judgment, if they hold any sway or anything in your life, then Jesus isn't where He should be.

Your life in Christ now, affects your life with Christ later. If you are not a believer, you have no future with Jesus other than judgement that leads to Hell.  You cannot enter Heaven without Christ as your personal Savior.  Believing that He exists isn't enough.  Demons do and they will not be spending eternity with Jesus.  Demons at least shudder at the thought of the wrath to come.  Most people don't.

Setting Jesus at our right hand means He is the first we talk to.  The first we ask advice from.  The first to know.  The first to hear what comes out of our mouths, our mind and heart.

So where is Jesus with you?

Is He important to you at all?  Do you talk to Him about what bothers you?  Do you?

Prayer isn't a once a day thing.  It's an all day thing.  Life isn't about what you can get out of it, in as much as it's what God needs you to be doing in it.

The Church is the body and Bride of Christ.  As it says in Corinthians we who are in Christ have a part, a role, a bodily function to do.  If a body part you have isn't doing what it's supposed to how useful is it? If your right arm decided not to participate today in your life, and you are right handed, how well is your right hand going to work?

Setting the Lord before you means He is what's most important.  To the body and Bride of Christ, He is what's most important.  The parts communicating with each other.  The parts helping each other.  The parts realizing they aren't just along for the ride as well.

I still find myself wondering what my life could have been like if Jesus were more important to me decades ago. I wonder how rich it could be like today. If I had had Him at my right hand in making all decisions.

But in the here and now, I will strive to be what I can be for Him.  To do what I can to spend more time with Him.  The world is not going to let me but I will try.

What about you?  Think about your life and where Jesus is in relationship to you.
Where is He in your life?
