Never been One Moment

But David thought to himself, “One of these days I will be destroyed by the hand of Saul.” 1 Samuel 27:1

This thought of David’s heart was a false one. He certainly had no reason to think that God’s anointing of him by Samuel would ultimately be an empty, purposeless act. There had never been an occasion when the Lord had deserted his servant; David had often been placed in perilous positions, but there was never a time in which divine intervention had not delivered him. The trials he faced had been varied; they had not assumed only one form—yet in every case the One who sent the trial had also graciously prepared a way of escape. David could not point to any entry in his diary and say, “Here is evidence that the Lord will forsake me,” for all the experiences of his life proved the very reverse. He should have argued, from what God had done for him, that the Lord would continue to defend him. But isn’t this just the way that we doubt God’s help? Our mistrust has no cause. Have we ever had the shadow of a reason to doubt our Father’s goodness? Hasn’t His lovingkindness been marvelous? Has he failed to justify our trust even one time? Ah, no! Our God has never, ever left us. We have had dark nights, but the star of love has shone amid the blackness; we have been in stern conflicts, but He has held the shield of defense over our heads. We have gone through many trials, but never to our detriment, always to our advantage. The conclusion from our history is that the One who has been with us in six troubles will not leave us in the seventh. What we have known of our faithful God proves that He will keep us to the end. Let us not, then, think thoughts that are contrary to the evidence. How can we be so ungenerous as to doubt our God? Lord, throw down the Jezebel of our unbelief, and let the dogs devour it (see 2 Kings 9:30–37). - C.H. Spurgeon Morning and Evening

Upon reading this devotional, I am brought to a song from a year or so ago.

Never been a Moment  - Micah Tyler

I've been sinner
I've been a saint
A little bit of both every single day
I've been lost
But somehow I've been found
There's been some pain
Been some regret
Been some moments I'll never forget
But when I look back
From where I'm standing now
There's never been a moment
I was not held inside your arms
And there's never been a day when you were not who you say you are
Yours forever, it don't matter
What I'm walking through
'Cause no matter where I'm going
There's never been a moment that I was not loved by you
Loved by you
Loved by you
You've been the rock
You've been the peace
Always showing your good heart to me
My days are marked by grace I don't deserve, no
You've been the price I could never pay
You've been the light that has led the way
No matter where oh I am, I am sure
There's never been a moment
I was not held inside your arms
There's never been a day when you were not who you say you are
Yours forever, it don't matter
What I'm walking through
'Cause no matter where I'm going
There's never been a moment that I was not loved by you
Loved by you
Loved by you
So where could I go that I could wander from your sight
And where could I run and never leave behind
Your all consuming
Heart pursuing
Grace extending
Never ending love
Your love
There's never been a moment, no
There's never been a moment
I was not held inside your arms
There's never been a day when you were not who you say you are
Yours forever, it don't matter
What I'm walking through
'Cause no matter where I'm going
There's never been a moment that I was not loved by oh
No matter where I'm going there's never been a moment that I was not loved by you
Loved by you
Loved by you
Loved by you
Loved by you
Loved by you
Loved by you

Depression hits everyone at some point.  You can even see the fringes of it in the Gospels when it comes to Jesus Himself.

Jesus? Depressed?  Yes. And no that isn't sacrilege in any way. Scripture says that He was tempted in every way yet did not sin.  The temptation to sin going through depression is very real.

King David knew better yet wrote those words down anyway.  Our thoughts can box us in and the disturbing truth is we are wielding the tools and materials to make that box.

I have been through many times of depression.  I don't recall the circumstances of all with any significant details, but do remember the when's of them happening.  The worst begin in the spring of 1999.  Depressed to the point of suicidal thoughts.  Suffice to say it's obvious that God didn't let me.

Nobody from Adam to now has ever gone through a life where depression hasn't touched them personally or someone near them.  People are sinful, hurtful, people at their core. Situations get overwhelming.  Evil pushes to beget more evil.  To try to drive away that which is good in Christ.

After the 7 years of judgements in the Biblical Tribulation, for a thousand years Jesus will be the world Leader.  People will go back to living for hundreds of years.  Evil will be curtailed dramatically, but, as the end of that period ends we see that even a 100 percent peaceful existence doesn't cure sin.  As the sand of the seashore is, people will gather to join the recently released Satan to fight against Jesus. All He will do is speak and the battle is over.  Then comes the final judgment at the Throne of God.

True depression will hit all the billions that are cast into the Lake of Fire.

Nobody who has put their faith in Christ Jesus for Salvation will ever see that fate.

The only way to add avoid that is to come to Christ in this life.  To confess your need for a Savior. To ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and to save you.  The way to Salvation is not complicated. It's free, but for many, to get past their prideful heart is impossible.  How many billions are in Hell all because they refuse to believe in their need for Jesus to save them, that didn't have to be there. From Jesus Himself we read of the fact that those who are there have no recourse. They have no problem realizing the truth of God's Word is irreversible.  But for you, my friend, in this life, you still have a choice.

You can find the peace that eludes you.
You can find the Salvation that you are in need of.
You can find that friend that sticks closer than a brother...Jesus.

You have that option and opportunity at your feet to find that which you have really been seeking.  The answers to your life's questions.  Everything you have been missing and more.

What you do from this moment on, after reading this, is where you can change your life.   Search for Romans Road to Salvation.  Read it, consider it well. You CAN escape depression, anger, anxiety, and emotions that you cannot control or contain. You need to come to Christ to find the answers to what you have been missing.
