Cast...don't Keep

Cast...Don't Keep

Two more passages that I read today stand out. One, I believe that God is saying to me,  the other is not just for me, but for all who read and are granted understanding through the Spirit.

Te first, I have believed since starting this blog. That God has things that He wants me to say and it's upon me to say them. Thus the name of the blog is called what it is.  A Scribe on the Wall.

Ezekiel 33:1-9 "Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Son of man, speak to the sons of your people and say to them, ‘If I bring a sword upon a land, and the people of the land take one man from among them and make him their watchman, and he sees the sword coming upon the land and blows the horn and warns the people, then someone who hears the sound of the horn but does not take warning, and a sword comes and takes him away, his blood will be on his own head. He heard the sound of the horn but did not take warning; his blood will be on himself. But had he taken warning, he would have saved his life. But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the horn and the people are not warned, and a sword comes and takes a person from them, he is taken away for his wrongdoing; but I will require his blood from the watchman’s hand.’

“Now as for you, son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for the house of Israel; so you will hear a message from My mouth and give them a warning from Me. When I say to the wicked, ‘You wicked person, you will certainly die,’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked about his way, that wicked person shall die for his wrongdoing, but I will require his blood from your hand. But if you on your part warn a wicked person to turn from his way and he does not turn from his way, he will die for his wrongdoing, but you have saved your life."

As I am lead, so I must write.  It's upon me to do so for these same reasons written about here concerning the Watchman on the Wall.

The other passage is in 1 Peter 5:6-11 NASB "Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time, having cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares about you. Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. So resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brothers and sisters who are in the world. After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To Him be dominion forever and ever. Amen."

Casting...as in tossing...as in throwing...that context got me. Having cast. Having tossed. Having thrown.  My anxiety. Oh have I had that this year. I honestly have had more than I have really ever wanted, and then some.

Sober in spirit.  Being on the alert.

How many are really that alert? Do you at all step back and consider your choices? Do you at all step back and question your direction in life?  Have you ever scrutinized your life to look to see if indeed you have been practicing sin?  In Ezekiel I also read about that there too. Paul wrote about practiced sin in Romans.  Practiced sin is sin we willingly and willfully do. We choose to do. We intentionally do.  Clear enough?  Things that you and I, if you are saved, do that is against God's Word because we choose to do it.

To some degree we all have practiced sin. Easy examples are where we justify our choices in the smallest degree regardless of what it is, when plainly God says it's sin.

We are immersed in sinful ideas and practices from birth. We have the unbelieving using every avenue possible to sway us, akin to that next verse. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

He's after believers to bring things into their lives to cause them to stumble and sin.

He's after unbelievers to keep them from the truth of God, the requirement of needing to be saved.  By distractions he keeps believers from being seen as such. By blending the world with the Church people see no need for salvation.

2 Corinthians 4:4 NASB "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God."

I am just a messenger, and I know that people don't like it when they are shown the truth about themselves.  I don't when it comes to me.

But how you take it is up to you. You are the one who must choose to listen to the Spirit or ignore His prompt to draw near to God.  James 4:8 NASB "Come close to God and He will come close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded."

We live in a world that is taught that compromise is a necessity of life. When there is no such thing in Scripture. You cannot compromise your way into salvation. You cannot barter with God to keep on sinning because you enjoy it. You cannot embrace the world and God too.

We live in a world that has so watered-down Christianity that in all too many circles even belief in Jesus Christ as the only way to be saved is not required.

We live in a world that uses idolatry in Church worship services.

We live in a world that refuses to recognize what idolatry is...and THAT world is the Christian world.  Christian people who have no concept of the truth about idols in their lives.

Misguided passions and emotions.

When a stupid game breaks your heart but a lost soul does not, you are deceived! You have embraced idolatry!  When a sport shares the stage with Jesus in a worship service it is an abomination before God, and yet in our world today it's joyously accepted!

Wake up!  If people going to Hell isn't bothering you but whether or not a team wins or loses does...you are living in sin. If it continues then that is a practiced sin.

You must come to grips with the truth of God in your life.

As I have been prompted to write on other occasions about me, God's changing the way that I look and feel about the things in my life.  It's upon me to respond in the right way. Same is upon you.

I have a duty to write what I am told to write.  It's upon all of you to react and do as the Spirit directs you.
