Just What Would God NOT Pardon?

Just What Would God NOT Pardon?
by David Brenneman

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the Light; for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, so that his deeds will not be exposed. But the one who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds will be revealed as having been performed in God.”

THE unpardonable sin is to reject salvation in Christ Jesus.  What we read here from Jesus Himself spells it out: "the one who does not believe has been judged already".

To say that you don't need God, you don't need the Church of God, you don't this or that concerning the things of God is to reject God's plan for saving you.

He goes on further to say that those who do love the darkness rather than the light for their deeds were evil.

2 Timothy 3:2-7 NASB "For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, slanderers,
disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited,
lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness although they have denied its power; avoid such people as these. For among them are those who slip into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."

There's many who love this present world.  Even people who have come to Christ for salvation often fall into that trap as well.  We see them in the headlines often because Satan runs the news services.  He loved to point to fallen Believers. 2 Timothy 4:10 it mentions Demas having loved this present world deserted Paul. It's as old as the Church is concerned people and the temptations of this world.  Satan gets a thrill out of causing people to go astray.  To find that which keeps them from fulfilling the Word of God in the lives of those who came to Christ for salvation.

Nobody is immune to the attacks. They are never overt attacks. Satan's learned the art of subtlety. Of patience in regards to waiting out people to build the enticement as a trap.  Demas obviously began as a strong believer and yet we see recorded his falling away. Will be interesting to get to Heaven to see if he returned as Mark had.  The Apostle Mark fell away for a while.  He did find his way back because the Apostle Paul asked for him.

We will see people adamant about you having your beliefs and they have their own. That's partly what Jesus points to in the statement about them loving the darkness rather than the light.

The thing to note is that those who haven't chosen Jesus for salvation have summarily rejected Him.  They who do not accept the truth of salvation through Jesus Christ alone have been judged already. So when they die without Christ Jesus's gift of salvation they enter into their punishment for their sins. In Romans it says clearly that the wages or what you receive for sin is death, eternal separation from God in torment and pain.

The world cannot understand the things of God until they come to Jesus for understanding. There is a limited amount of faith in leading up to salvation. Enough to show you the way, Jesus, and the door, your asking, in order to receive it.  The Father’s plan was as simple as it could get, that even a child could understand it.  Nicodemus, the person Jesus was talking to in John 3 was a teacher of the Law to the people of Israel.  Essentially a priest and expert in the Law of God.  Someone who should have known from the Scriptures about Jesus.

The caveat about this unpardonable sin is this:  You have hope in avoiding it only while you live and breathe.  Once you die its sealed.  It cannot be changed, your judgment is filled out.  Nobody in this life can pray someone out of Hell. Nobody in this life can change that judgment of God concerning the sins of those who died without salvation in Christ Jesus.  Giving money to the Church won't do it. Prayer every day for the deceased won't do it.

It's an unpardonable event to reject salvation once death has occurred.

Some believe that they will get saved before they die, they want to live life first.

Just as no man knows the day nor the hour of the return of Jesus Christ, nobody can really at all predict their own death. Your very breathe is a gift from God whether or not you are a follower of Christ Jesus.  It can be revoked at any time. It doesn't have to be cancer, a car accident or some other thing.  I know of someone who all he did was stand up to get coffee and fell over dead.

Do you really want to accept the summary judgment against you for your rejection of salvation in Christ Jesus out of your stubbornness? Out of anger at God for what He's allowed or has said He would never accept in people?

We who have come to Christ see things entirely differently than people still in the darkness of this world.  We learn to see things as God does through the Spirit of God.  We learn about God and about life as it was meant to be lived.

You don't want to delay in receiving the gift of salvation.  You who haven't received salvation have a summary judgment against you looming over your head.  Claiming you don't agree or don't believe it doesn't change it. You were born into sin from physical birth and need to be born again through salvation in Christ Jesus alone.

Read verse 16 differently.

For God so loved YOU that He gave His only Son that if YOU believe in Him YOU will have eternal life.

Those who reject Christ are the people He will not confess are His before His Father in Heaven.  The next thing for those people is the eternal punishment of the Lake of Fire. Hell is only the beginning of the wages of sin.

Please don't hesitate.  Please realize that Jesus can return at any time and if you haven't come to Christ for salvation prior to His return you will face a Hell on Earth unlike any other time in Human history.  That time is still uncomparable to the real Hell that awaits those who reject Jesus for salvation.
