The Coming and You Being Angry at God

The Coming and You Being Angry at God
by David Brenneman

It's often been said that the return of Jesus Christ is akin to the old children's story of the little boy who cried wolf.

It's even recorded in a similar way in the Bible itself.

2 Peter 3:1-9 NASB "Beloved, this is now the second letter I am writing to you in which I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of a reminder, to remember the words spoken beforehand by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior spoken by your apostles. Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue just as they were from the beginning of creation.” For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed by being flooded with water. But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly people.

But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance."

Peter wrote of that several thousand years ago.  The answer and some of the reasons are in the last verse.

Jesus has no desire in seeing anyone going to Hell.

People choose to either believe and be saved or to not and bear the consequences of that.  In this physical world there are consequences that impact everyone's eternity.

There's the movie saying about onions having layers and people are like onions.  Well the prophecies in the Bible are another layer next to the Salvation issue. Prophecies exist. They were written long ago and as the Bible says of itself the Scriptures cannot be broken.  If God had someone write concerning something, it's either happened or IS going to happen.

How often do you keep a matter to yourself concerning someone who you care deeply about and yet you say nothing. Your hope is that they gain an understanding by what THEY see or understand.

There's plenty of evidence and testimonials of the effects of the Spirit of God with those who believe.

So many people find that they would rather hold to their anger against God concerning what's happened in their lives or the lives of those they know.  They see not how Satan's so manipulated things that their anger and or hatred of God has no basis in truth.  Literally, again as the Bible says, they are blinded to the truth.

The Bible says that the anger of man does not bring about the righteousness of God. James 1:20.

Some wonder if the world will notice the Rapture of the Church. Well it's going to be accompanied by a global earthquake. My belief is it will be noticed.  Look at how hyper sensitive people have become since the fall of 2019 towards other people.  The loss of millions is impacting lives everywhere. Now imagine what the impact will be when several million or maybe up to the hundreds of millions of people are suddenly missing.  That's what the world will see happening. Those who aren't old enough to be Biblically accountable will be gone.  Those who are alive and are Believers will be gone. Oh the devastation that will result.  Vehicles and machinery of all kinds and sizes will suddenly be unmanned. The result will be a huge surge in people going to Hell as well.

The earthquake that accompanies the Rapture will have its own effect.  Quite possibly tsunamis will be happening globally.

Noah preached for over a hundred years of what was coming from God.  People laughed him off.  They mocked him.  Jesus says that life would be like the days of Noah when He returns.

People will be living for themselves, will be rejecting the notion of Christ returning.

I am yet still reminded of Jesus's asking will He find the faith when He returns?

Look at Noah's time.  In truth the one one of billions on the Earth who had the faith, MIGHT have been some of Noah's family besides himself.  The world was filled with darkness.  Our world is filling up with darkness.  Believers are increasingly becoming discouraged and disheartened. They are not living out their faith.  We who are in Christ are supposed to be lights in the world. Churches are closing at an alarming rate. People aren't finding it important to follow the Word of God. The faith Jesus was wondering if He would find is slipping away.

Anger and malice are finding their way into the Church. People are trying to create Churches where the Spirit isn't welcome.  Holding to a form of godliness although they have denied its power.  That's what the Bible says would happen and it has happened.

False teachers are entrenched in so-called Churches.  Making people believe what isn't true of God. Man does not create a vision of a church. The Great Commission is about making Disciples of every tribe, tongue and nation. The Spirit is responsible for the Church and making Disciples is adding to the Church.

Jesus isn't coming to any fanfare.

Jesus is going to come as far as the sky and with a shout will cry out to His own to come out of this world. Will you be one of them or are you still yet unbelieving?

Your possibly one of those with a grudge against God.  Angry because you think He’s unfair or allowed some loss to happen in your life or the life of someone you know.  Anger eats away at your insides.  You being angry at God accomplishes nothing.  It's the same as being angry with your neighbor and never having a conversation as to why you are angry.  They don't know that you are until you tell them. So talk to God. Talk to Jesus and tell Him why you are the way you are towards Him.  Give Him the opportunity to explain Himself.

The Coming is always imminent. Of all the things necessary that were predicted to happen in the world, all that really remains is that last person who is yet to be saved to find salvation.

It just might be you.
