Make the Most of Your Time for the Days are Evil

Make the Most of Your Time for the Days are Evil
by David Brenneman

Ephesians 5:15-16 NASB "So then, be careful how you walk, not as unwise people but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is."

Colossians 3:24-25 NASB "Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord and not for people, knowing that it is from the Lord that you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve. For the one who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong which he has done, and that without partiality."

Time is well past for Believers today to be ready for Jesus to return.  So much of what I have been reading lately points to being ready for His appearing.  Thought I was going to say something specific or spectacular about just that event?

There's much more in the New Testament about what to expect in life if you but look for it...and what's expected of you if you have indeed agreed with Romans 10:8-13 NASB "But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;  for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.  For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Look again at the last part of what comes from Colossians. See the urgency yet? The importance yet?

"But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not just hearers who deceive themselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. But one who has looked intently at the perfect law, the law of freedom, and has continued in it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an active doer, this person will be blessed in what he does." James 1:22-25 NASB

I indeed have been pressed to become more and more of a doer of the Word in recent years than ever.  The importance of the message of the Gospel is beyond urgent to be spoken and spread around the world.  All the evidence that I ever need is what's brought to me every morning to post, and that 92,000 views that is entirely God leading people to find the words He brings me.

My Friend, please don't regard the message lightly.  It's imperative to know where you will spend eternity.

The intensity of evil in our world is increasing for a reason. Satan has made significant headway in infiltrating the Church. He's growing and intermingling worldly thinking and religious ideas into the true Church.  Again the Church was warned of this too in 1 Timothy 4, Matthew 7.

As Believers we need to be on our game.  We need to realize the importance of this hour in which we live.

Luke 8:14 NASB "And the seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked by worries, riches, and pleasures of this life, and they bring no fruit to maturity."  No fruit to maturity...are you claiming the name of Jesus yet have no evidence of growth?  Be sure of the salvation you say that you have!

What are you really considering important in your life?  Are you growing in respect to your salvation?

Are the things of God important to you more than what the world has to offer?

Merely believing God exists isn't enough. Demons do that.

Oh my Dear Reader, look at the headlines.  Evil people are showing their own evil ways. Other evil people are manipulating events to further evil agendas.

As evil is doing its thing it takes advantage of the thoughts and feelings of people to further its manipulative agenda.  Using crisis after crisis to gain more power and control.

The god of this world indeed wants a unified world that worships him.  Satan's caring not who dies in the process.

How seriously are you taking your walk with Christ Jesus?  How much of your time is spent on worthless things that have absolutely nothing to do with your growing in respect to your salvation in Jesus Christ?  We make loads of excuses in respect to why we aren't pursuing God.
We earned a time to relax, we need a break etc etc.  We deserve...

In a moment in the twinkling of an eye this planet is going to go through one horrific change, unlike anything its ever seen before.  Planes the world over will be crashing. Cars, trucks, vehicles of every size will be crashing all over the world.  The Believers who were piloting or driving will have vanished.  The collateral deaths will be in the millions.  As Heaven receives those who truly did put their faith and trust in Christ Jesus alone for salvation, Hell too will be receiving millions more.

Suffice to say we are not on some path towards a better world.  We are not going to see great strides of mankind united and prosperity abounding.  For the time that comes after the Rapture of the Church will be 7 years of the worst this world has ever seen. Only after those years and judgments of God are completed will this world know what peace on Earth good will towards men and women will be about.

The evil in this world is clawing and scraping to gain more control. By the murder of children and families. By taking advantage of situations to strip the rights of people. By putting people in power that will gain them something.  Yes, I know that the Scriptures say that it is God who places people in authority.  He only allows those who are in authority when He does to keep fulfilling the Scriptures.  Satan's aim is to violate the Scriptures.  The Spirit will never allow him to do so.

So where are you in your life?  Are you living a life that says that what God wants is important to you or are you too living out your own agenda that leaves what God wants as an option rather than a responsibility?

It's critical in our Christian life to be everywhere with our armor of God on. We can't afford to be anywhere without it. Ephesians 6 is what I refer to.  Regardless of what you may think every day you are engaging the enemy of God. Until you reach Heavens gates you will contend with evil in the forms of your sin nature and the evil in this world.  You cannot afford to let your guard down.  Many in this world are immediately ushered into Heaven soon after coming to Christ for salvation.  Point being is this world is at war against Christianity.  We are behind enemy lines.  We aren't on vacation. We are here to fulfill the Will of God in Christ Jesus. Our Sanctification is a priority. Our making Disciples is a priority. The Spirit will handle creating the Church.

Set your mind on things above and not on the things of this world. Colossians 3:2.

The busyness of this world will try to consume you, the cares of this life will try to overtake you. Everything has a potential to rob you of fruit in Christ Jesus.  We are instructed in the Bible to be on our guard because the Devil prowls around seeking someone to devour, to destroy.  When you read the headlines of senseless death remember that. Remember it well.  He is behind the senseless deaths you see and read about.

Ephesians 5:15-16 NASB "So then, be careful how you walk, not as unwise people but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is."

The Will of God is our sanctification.
The Will of God is to walk in such a way that by our works people would glorify the God of Heaven.
The Will of God is for those who claim the name of Jesus would shine in such a way that we show others the way to be saved.
The Will of God is to make Disciples of all nations. Teaching them to do all that He commanded.
