Foolish and the Wise

We really are living in the times that Jesus said would be.

2 Peter 3:4 "and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.”"

That's what most of 8 billion people think right now. But what does Jesus say?

Luke 12:35-48

"Be dressed in readiness, and keep your lamps lit. Be like men who are waiting for their master when he returns from the wedding feast, so that they may immediately open the door to him when he comes and knocks. Blessed are those slaves whom the master will find on the alert when he comes; truly I say to you, that he will gird himself to serve, and have them recline at the table, and will come up and wait on them.Whether he comes in the second watch, or even in the third, and finds them so, blessed are those slaves.

“But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have allowed his house to be broken into. You too, be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour that you do not expect.”

Peter said, “Lord, are You addressing this parable to us, or to everyone else as well?” And the Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and sensible steward, whom his master will put in charge of his servants, to give them their rations at the proper time? Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes. Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions. But if that slave says in his heart, ‘My master will be a long time in coming,’ and begins to beat the slaves, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk;the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces, and assign him a place with the unbelievers. And that slave who knew his master’s will and did not get ready or act in accord with his will, will receive many lashes, but the one who did not know it, and committed deeds worthy of a flogging, will receive but few. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.

Think on those words.

As one preacher put it, many in the Church see God only on Sunday and date other gods during the week.  Is that showing readiness?

Is that showing anything good? Not at all.

In that same passage Jesus goes on to say that people know how to read the weather and yet do not understand the times in which they live.  For Him to say that really gets it put out there that it's important to understand it. It's important when God says it's important.  He IS coming back and there's billions who will be caught off guard.  The reality of the Rapture will hit them after it happens. Questions will be asked. Governments will lie to cover up the truth. Likely millions will commit suicide due to guilt and anguish over those who were taken.  Millions will finally realize they need to hope in something or someone because they see only then that they cannot go on without direction.

Many billions will believe the lies and follow a world leader. That world Leader will be the Antichrist.

On the world stage, look at history again, there have been many Antichrist's.  1 John 2:8 "Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour."

Are you ready in this hour of your life? I am.

Jesus IS returning.  Unlike the liars of other religions, EVERY SINGLE prophecy about Jesus has come true. ALL.  Well over 500 not just a few.

Be ready! Be found in His Word.  Realize the times in which we live.  Realize the truth about sin and death.  Realize there's a cross shaped hole in your heart that can only be taken care of by Jesus Christ.  Right now everyone is doing whatever is right in their own eyes.  Mega Churches are not necessarily the answer.  It's those who listen and obey.  Jesus told many that to obey is better than sacrifice.

You will lose everything you have in this life when you die. All you will have to take with you is a history of your life and how it was spent. What you did, why you did and who you did it for.

In Revelation that's what Jesus told billions of people. "Depart from Me for I never knew you". People who did live their own way on their own merits.  Who lived a 'good life'...apart from Jesus.  If you don't have the Security of Salvation in Christ Jesus alone you have NOTHING.  Not a single span or instance of good deeds will save you.  If that were possible then quite frankly Jesus died for nothing.

Be ready.  Get serious about God. Come to Christ today.  Soon there will be no second chance.
