The Love of God

The Love of God...
The love of God is not at all like the love of Man.  I awoke this morning to part of a Mercy Me song by the same name
"The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell
It goes beyond the highest star
And reaches to the lowest hell
The guilty pair, bowed down with care
God gave His Son to win
His erring child He reconciled
And pardoned from his sin"

In my devotional reading Isaiah 53:7 was mentioned. "He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth;
Like a lamb that is led to slaughter,
And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth."

At one point Jesus had mentioned that all it would take is one single call to His Father and LEGIONS of Angels would be there in an instant to fight for Him.  Not just Michael or Gabriel, but Legions.

We often don't look at the fact that He took aside His Disciples and explicitly told them what was about to happen. The Why it was about to happen escaped them. They didn't know what to say.

Satan thought that the greatest day of his life was about to happen.  But the reality is the greatest show of the love of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit was about to take place.

If we are honest with ourselves we will all say that even when Christ saved us that part of us still couldn't understand why.  Guess we are in good company with the Disciples.  We know of the dirt in our lives. Yet Jesus still says "I love you." We sin today and He still says "I love you." We look away in shame, He puts a hand to our chin, turns us to face Him, and says, "Hey, I still love you. I died and arose again to take away your sin. I still love you."
Think about that. In His own defense, here on Earth, He said nothing.  He answered the only question posed to Him that mattered. He is King. To fulfill Isaiah He did not defend Himself.  To prove obedient to the Father He said nothing. All Human history came down to this.

So consider today. Jesus loved you enough, dirt and all, to die for you. If you haven't responded to His invitation to be saved by Him. Why not? It's free. Come as you are. He will take care of the rest.

He was silent. You don't need to be. He waited just for YOU.
