Powerful testimony from a Demon?

A powerful testimony...from a Demon?

Luke 8:28 ""Seeing Jesus, he cried out and fell before Him, and said in a loud voice, “What business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me.”"

Think about what he/they did. I say he/they because they admit that there's way more than I demon in him. Legion was their name.
But look first at the progression of this.  He saw Jesus.  Came to HIM.  Fell down before Jesus.  The natural state of everyone before the Holy God of the Universe is to fall down before Him.  Jesus says that every knee shall bow, every tongue will confess that He is Lord. Look at what He does next. Confession.
He confesses the truth of who Jesus is.  In this instance Jesus doesn't tell him to be silent about that confession. In the beginning of the book of John, John says in Chapter 1 verse 5 "The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it."   For a demon or demons to be forced to speak the truth is to show the power of what every created being will do. Now and forever more. The result? Begging for mercy.
After the Rapture, after all that is accomplished according to God's Word, many will cry out at what all they did for God, He will tell them to depart from Him for He never knew them.  There was no relationship with Christ.  No true obedience.  In their life there was no confession of God's truth in their life. They never left the darkness for the light only found in Christ.
Coming to Christ now isn't getting a "get out of Hell free" card. It's not some license to go on living for yourself.  It's not twisting the blessings you are given into personal gain to be used only for yourself.  It's not giving you a life to spend only your way. It's a relationship with God.  It's living for the one who left His Father to come live a sinless life, die a horrible death on a cross to pay for what you could not, your sins. Then to arise 3 days later to prove to all that He indeed is the Christ, God's only Son. That He IS Lord. He showed you how much He loves you by going through all that, so that those who live in Him can tell others. Share what they have been blessed with, with others. To grow in Christ, be made more like Him.
Demons understand that all this is true. They fight all this, every day of YOUR life. Yes, YOUR life.  They do not want the truth of God to get out. But as the verse above says, even they are not exempt. They MUST confess the truth. However distasteful it is to them.
Living for Jesus a life that is true, striving to please Him in all that I do...as the Hymn goes.
Are you living for yourself or for Jesus? Simply but the most complicated question you will have to think about today.
